Nicholas and I are slowly getting rid of the boxes that clutter this otherwise wonderful apartment. We are mostly done with the painting and I must say it is a fine job :).

We are having a great time here in Miami Beach. The energy of the place is contagious. We haven't gone partying, but we've met some pretty cool people on our building. For me change is often hard, but this has been such a positive change. Even our plants are faring better, though our cacti seem to have been plagued by some sor of blight. We are losing them left and right :(. One of my classmates said she'd help us identify the problem and try to save as many as we can. It helps having friends that know a lot about plants.

We love being able to walk around the neighborhood. We are trying to be more physically active and so we have taken to walking at night. To be honest, half the time Nicholas goes solo because I am lazy, but I'm working on it :). Having the beach so close by is simply wonderful!

We brought a fifth cat with us! Chadaana is a siamese mix with the most beautiful eyes. We'd been feeding Chadaana as a stray since we were are the old apartment. He was/is such a skittish cat that it took about 3 years before he'd let either of us touch him. Last year he began coming inside the apartment to eat with the other cats instead of outside. Three days before we moved out, Chadaana came in and didn't leave. He used the litter like the other cats and he was friendly. The day we were leaving I called a vet to ask for an opinion about whether we should take Chadaana with us. The woman on the other line gushed about how wonderful it was that Chadaana had adoopted us and we should definitely take him. We moved our boxes and came back for the cats. Don't you know that the only cat that didn't make a fuss about getting into the car was Chadaana? It was as if he was just grateful to not be on the street. The other cats, on the other hand, howled so furiously I was nervous to drive. All have settled well, and so we are happy.

I'm going to work on an assignment...5 hours later than I expected to start simply because I had to reinstall my operating system TWICE in one day. That was 5 hours of my life wasted :P. Nicholas tried to keep my spirits high, but I was so frustrated I could just cry (and I did). Thankfully the computer is back on track.
