To be fair and honest, I did get some hanging out time, but there was a SIGNIFICANT amount of work to be done over this "vacation." I spoke with my graduate advisor and was informed that for the remainder of my school experience, I will have work through Thanksgiving and Spring Break every year. That's nice. It turns out that I will have summer school for BOTH sessions, so no vacation in that way either. I mentioned in the Landscape Architecture section that I'm burnt out. That sure is no lie!

I haven't mentioned much about AKA recently because I've been really sedate for the most part. No big partying or anything. However, the time of come out shows has arrived. Tomorrow, the ladies of Sigma Iota chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha at FAU will debut "The Mystery Behind the Mask." I really would love to witness the unveiling of these ladies, but Boa Raton is FAR. Now that we've moved to the beach, Nick and I try to restrict our long driving to going to school (me) and that's about it. I don't know. If I finish my homework tonight/early Monday, and my girl KayPea goes, then I'll probably venture out. An opportunity to wear a hat!

I received a C. I talked more about that in the "Landscape ARchitecture" section, but I thought I should mention what is on my mind.

Average - riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. I am never average.

With that being said, I am sitting here slightly annoyed that I am working on a website that not only is average, but might just be below average. The site is for a trade that Nick made for massage equipment. Note to designers: Beware of pregnant clients. No offense should be taken by anyone who is reading this that happens to be pregnant because y'all know that pregnancy can make you wishy washy. I created a flash intro for the client and she LOVED it. She even added three exclamation points. Two days later she emailed us this long spiel about the intro not being something that accurately reflects the simplicity that she is going for. What??? (notice MY three question marks). In any case, the sites that the client wants us to mirror are so horrible and circa 1995 that I am ashamed to be typing the code. I know that designers are supposed to give the client what he/she wants, but damn!

So like I said I am working on a site that is giving me absolutely no joy. Nick's grandma told us that the true test of our skills would be to give her the plain site she wants, but somehow make it look good, but when you are dealing with a site that has a logo, a side with plain text links, and a text box on the right, there isn't much creativity that can go into it. Speaking of Nick's grandma, we visited her on Tuesday and came back to Miami yesterday. TRying to get to my studio class on time, I was flying through the Everglades. I did slow down by about 10 miles per hour when I got into town, but that wasn't enough to save me from getting pulled over by the cops. $223!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me. I am definitely contesting this ticket because there was no way I was going 75. The policeman was nice, but he was a liar!

Nick is about to call the client, so I am going to go.
